Background

Born and raised in Hiroshima. Spent a year at a college in Indiana, USA. After graduating from a university, worked at a travel agency specializing in home-stay programs. Stationed in Brisbane, Vancouver and other cities for a short period of time. In Japan, lived in Kyoto and Takamatsu, and have been living in Tokyo for over 20 years. Taught Japanese to English-speaking children until recently. Acquired the national license of interpreter-guide in English in 2017.

Specialties and Hobbies


  • Love traveling in Japan and overseas…visited over 20 countries
  • Like joining walking tours…visiting historic sites, gardens, shrines and temples, and towns
  • Collecting Goshuin, a seal given at a Shinto shrine or a Buddhist temple
  • Love reading books on Japanese history during samurai period…but like Haruki Murakami too
  • Like playing the piano
